Last week, Donald Trump announced his budget proposal, which includes the defunding of the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanties (recipients of approximately .006% of government spending in 2016).

Writers and artists across the country have mobilized to voice their opposition to the cuts, and in solidarity with these movements, we asked writers to share the postcards they will be sending to their representatives to demand that the NEA and NEH remain funded. Below is a sample of what we have received; we encourage everyone to participate by contacting their representatives (who can be easily determined here) and sharing what they sent with the hashtag #NEAProtestcards.
