This week is the eleventh annual celebration of mission-driven presses, University Press Week, founded by the Association of University Presses. This year’s theme for the week is “Next UP,” which emphasizes the many ways UPs are evolving, and improving the ways they deliver books, journals, and ideas to readers in the years to come. Many of AUPress’ members submitted the book from their fall list that they feel aligns best with the Next UP theme, as part of the University Press Week reading list you see here.

These titles cover the waterfront, from evocative fiction and poetry to of-the-moment non-fiction books about global warming, Black lives, LGBTQIA+ experiences, and the rights of indigenous people. You’re sure to find your next great read among them.
